July 4, 2025 — On a day many associate with independence and liberation, long-time rave scene participant and artivist Jivana—the creator behind the cultural mythos of Raver J—is issuing a creative call to action, via campaign, geared toward the global electronic music community. This campaign centers around the real-life plight of two orcas and multiple dolphins still held in captivity at Marineland Antibes. It asks artists, fans, festival goers, fashion designers, event producers, and labels to step into a new kind of participation: download a $2 short story, sign a petition, and stay tuned for a powerful global ocean justice event this summer.

The story, titled XTraction, is a piece of impact fiction—a surreal and heartfelt tale of liberation that blends rave culture with ecological resistance. All proceeds go directly to Tidebreakers, a coalition of frontline conservationists and former marine park insiders working to free the animals and pressure authorities to follow through. “Rave culture has always been about more than music,” says Jivana. “It’s about unity, awareness, and using rhythm as a response to injustice. July 4th felt like the perfect moment to release a creative call for real liberation—this time, for orcas.”

Set against the backdrop of a covert rave-fueled rescue mission, XTraction channels beats, bioluminescence, and biosonic frequencies to spotlight a real-world issue: two abandoned orcas and pod of dolphins trapped in a defunct marine park.

2. Nature is not FOR us. It is PART of us. She's part of your family in the world.

3. Bad thoughts cause illness to the mind, body and spirit. Practice optimism.

4. Keep yourself balanced. Your Mental person, your Spiritual person, your Emotional person, and your Physical person: they all have the need to be strong, pure and healthy.

5. Find yourself, by your own means. Do not let others make your path for you. It is your path, and only yours. Others may walk with you, but no one can make your way (or walk your path) for you.

6. Be true (transparent ) all the time. Honesty is the test of one's will in this universe.

7. Treat guests in your home with great consideration. Serve them the best food, give them the best bed and treat them with respect and honor.

8. Do not take what is not yours, whether from a person, a community, from the jungle or from a culture. It was not given or won. It is not yours.

9. Children are the seeds of our future. Sow love in hearts and water them with wisdom and life lessons. As children grow, just give them space to do it.

10. Avoid hurting the hearts of others. The poison of their suffering will return to you.

11. Never talk about others in a bad way. The negative energy you put into the universe will multiply when it returns to you.

12. Honor the thoughts, desires and words of all people. Never break them in, or make fun of them, or imitate them rudely. It gives each person the right to their personal expression.

Is SHERO FEST a festival?

Right now the term "fest" is used playfully to mean "festive". The Goddess is playful so why should we not be? So, no it's not a festival but maybe one day ;)

Are SHERO FEST events large?

As this is a new happening in our area, it is expected that the live events should be quite intimate. Especially for October as it becomes challenging if there is heavy rainfall (which our area needs!). However, the more the merrier. If you know people you sense might take a liking to Shero Fest, share Shero Fest with them and invite them to an event you will attend. Hosted by JIVANA, Shero Fest is a bi-annual Navaratri-inspired multi-week event. In places of traditional celebration such as the Indian subcontinent, Navaratri is known to be a 9 night/ 10 day event celebrating the (spiritual) struggle of good and evil but eventual victory through the ultimate super-shero, Durga (her depiction is above). SHERO FEST provides the a means to honor this Goddess and the teaching she brings through her story. Twitter has announced that it will be employing “a new community-driven approach to help address misleading information” called Birdwatch which news media are comparing to the model of content moderation used by Wikipedia.

“Twitter unveiled a feature Monday meant to bolster its efforts to combat misinformation and disinformation by tapping users in a fashion similar to Wikipedia to flag potentially misleading tweets,” reports NBC. “The new system allows users to discuss and provide context to tweets they believe are misleading or false. The project, titled Birdwatch, is a standalone section of Twitter that will at first only be available to a small set of users, largely on a first-come, first-served basis.”

“We know there are a number of challenges toward building a community-driven system like this — from making it resistant to manipulation attempts to ensuring it isn’t dominated by a simple majority or biased based on its distribution of contributors,” Twitter’s official statement says. “We’ll be focused on these things throughout the pilot.”

There has been a purge of left-wing accounts from social media, with socialist organizations being targeted on Facebook and multiple Antifa-associated accounts suspended from Twitter.

“We have just confirmed that Facebook has disabled the page of the International Youth and Students for Social Equality at the University of Michigan, as well as the accounts of all admins,” World Socialist Website editor tweeted today. “This is an unprecedented attack on the speech rights of an official campus student group.”

I have this fantasy where the artists go on strike.

I dream that one by one, in their own quiet ways, the artists, the writers, the musicians, the comedians, the graphic designers, the marketing gurus, the spinmeisters and press release writers, the jingle makers and advertising creatives, the seamstresses and cake decorators, will lay down their tools and refuse to work for evil anymore.

The writer will stand up from her desk at Raytheon and walk away without lending them another word.

The graphic designer at the State Department will turn off his Wacom and shut down Photoshop and pick up a pencil and start sketching homeless people.

Whole marketing departments will turn their talents to telling the real story of what their organization does in words and jingles and graphics and logos while the hapless artless CEO looks on helplessly, threatening them with everything he’s got.

Across boardrooms in every state of the US, in every country in Europe, on all the continents and in all the languages, the artists will stand up one by one and say:

“I will no longer use my poetry to sculpt weasel words into beautiful truthless forms so that you might suck up more life and turn it into greenbacks.”
“I will no longer use my art to run cover for your ambitions.”
“I will no longer lend credence to your planet-killing philosophy.”
“I will no longer let my goodness stand in the way of people seeing your badness.”
“I will no longer be the sole reason why people still trust your organization.”
